Hello! I'm finally back after two busy, busy months. Happy valentines day! In this time I've had off, I had the most sales I've ever had within the month of January and I'm so thankful for the business. Since I finally have the time to relax, I figured what better time than now to have a Dream World Post about pampering one's self!

Every night, my favourite thing to do before bed is my skin care routine. It calms me, sets the mood for a nice evening of warmth and dreams and actually improves my mental state. If I skip my pampering routine for the night, I always notice a significant lower in my self esteem and outlook. There are a few routines and products I like to have every night or at least most nights.

My Personal favourite skincare products:
Face Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Vitamin C Facial Wash
I use this product after I have removed some of my makeup, either with a generic soap or makeup wipe. (I typically prefer a soap, the less I can aggressively rub my face, the better)

PEACHES AND CLEAN Deep Cleansing Milk A four-in-one deep cleansing milk
Next I use this product to remove any excess dirt or makeup I would have missed with the vitamin C face wash or soap. It feels so soft, relaxing and smells really nice! The two of these products really cleared up any clogged pores or spots that I couldn't seem to find anything that worked for. (I have combo skin, mostly dry but it does get slightly oily through the day)

After drying my face by damping a clean towel on it (don't rub!) I lightly apply this eye cream on my under eyes to reduce puffiness. I don't really know how well this works for eyes, since mine were never that puffy to begin with, but it tingles! I actually also apply it along my smile lines, since mine are quite prominent and it seems to have evened them out a bit more.

I apply a light amount this on my face. I actually tend to break out more and be irritated when my face is dry, so I use a product with an oil base after all the washing. I used to use coconut oil but I found that clogged my pores a lot more.

Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion
This is my favourite lotion I've ever bought!I have eczema, so I tend to go through lotion quite quickly, but not this one. It is meant to last 24 hours and it really keeps your skin soft and moisturized. It is also infused with lavender, which is a great scent for stress relief, so if you suffer with anxiety, this is a great product for you. I apply this all over my body, including my face.

So there's more to pampering yourself than just skin care. Another thing I do to calm myself is to have some tea. I won't recommend a specific brand (even though my favourite is Harney and Son's) but most tea brands have relatively the same affect. In the morning, a great tea to get your day started is green tea. Green tea has plenty of health benefits, so it provides the energy you might need throughout a busy day. If I happen to have a stomach ache, two great teas to try are ginger tea, and peppermint tea. Ginger is proven to help calm the stomach and mint breaks down toxins! Later in the evening, a great tea to help you fall asleep is chamomile. If you can't handle the simplicity of tea and want to add some sweetness or flavour without the sugar, skinny syrups are amaaaaazing. My personal favourite is caramel flavoured.

While we're all isolating it is so easy to wake up in the morning and stay in pyjamas all day and kind of walk around feeling like a potato. But I really encourage you to get up, wash your face, put on whatever amount of makeup makes you look and feel alive (whether its tons or none) and put on some nice lounge wear. If you don't have much lounge wear, you can always find cheap cute sweats at thrift stores, or take comfortable, older pieces in your closet instead. If you are feeling a little low for a few days, it's totally fine to skip a day and just relax but try not to let yourself fall into a slump!

I've mentioned it before in Little Things For Little Space and Little Things For Little Space Part 2 but one of my absolute favourite ways to treat myself on bad days is to delve into the past. I like to watch movies, television shows, play games and listen to music that reminds me of a time back when I didn't have deal with the responsibilities of the adult world. Though it's only a temporary fix, it does make me feel a whole lot better as it gives you a moment due to just disconnect.

Another form of pampering yourself that has been kind of hyped lately is manifesting with positive affirmations. The process of this is repeatedly saying kind words to yourself until they feel and become true. Here are a few I've recently been teaching myself to repeat:
- I am valid
- There are people who love me
- I am worth more than how I look
- I am beautiful inside and out
- I am loved even though I make mistakes
- I can always start over
There are many more affirmations and positive sayings you can come up with or repeat to yourself. A friend of mine has a twitter dedicated to bettering and being kinder to yourself. If you would like to visit, her twitter is Swan Power Inc. Though manifesting is a bit of a hype right now, it's incredibly positive and I hope it's here to stay. It can really help to undo a lot of unhealthy messages we've told ourselves and have been told to us.

Remember, you can never never really treat yourself too well. In fact I think most of us don't treat ourselves well enough. If you never do anything else in this entry, I really encourage you to spend some time speaking kindly to yourself every day. It is a great way to improve your self worth. Thanks for reading!
